Cardamom & Cloves Grilled Peach Rounds…oiiii oooiii, these are dreamy fruit creations that can work with not just sitting atop your pound cake, but in so many other ways. You can ‘boho’ to your heart’s content! In fact, I’d love to hear how you used them…as a dessert, maybe with pork or chicken, or perched on a bowl of warm oatmeal!
Serves: 4
What you need:
4 tbl butter
2 large or 3 medium sized fresh peaches
1 tsp cardamom
½ tsp cloves
¼ cup sugar
What you do:
In a cast iron skillet (preferably with grill stripes), melt the butter over medium heat. Remove pit from peach and cut each half crosswise in ½” plus thick rounds. Combine the cardamom, cloves and sugar and sprinkle on the peaches. Once the skillet is hot, lay peaches in (leaving space between each for turning) unsprinkled side down first. Grilled for about 2-3 minutes or until stripes form. Flip and grill on sugared side until golden brown and sugar starts to caramelize, about 2-3 minutes.
Remove and serve immediately or these can be eaten room temperature or cold.
