Wear Gatsby white. Act like you’re bourgeoisie. Serve with a spoon because you want to get all the goodness! This ‘Spicy Gatsby Refresher’ is sure to make you start acting like you summer in Newport! Since this is festive, I’m sharing it with ‘This and That: Foodie Friends Friday’ linky party!
Makes: (2) 10+ ounce drinks
What you need:
Ice cubes
1/2 cup brandy
1/4 tsp red chili flakes
1 cup (combo) pitted fresh cherries, blueberries, raspberries
4 sprigs fresh lemon thyme
4 sprigs fresh mint
1 cup Sutter Home Chardonnay
12 oz ginger ale
4-6 small pieces of candied ginger
What you do:
Combine brandy, chili flakes and berries/cherries and marinade about 30 minutes or more.
In 12 oz+ size jars, add 3-4 ice cubes. Place a couple of sprigs of lemon thyme and mint in container. Add equal amounts of berry/cherry combo. Top with another 2-3 ice cubes.
Pour equal amounts of Sutter Home Chardonnay in each container.
Pour equal amounts of gingerale filling glasses.
Garnish with fresh lemon thyme, mint, and candied ginger.
